In a $1.4 million Sacred Space Campus Improvement project of the historic 75+ year old Congregational Church of San Mateo, CBI accomplished a wide variety of tasks included building a new addition, ADA upgrades throughout including installing new ramps & and handicap lift, new lighting system, new flooring, remodeling the Narthex & Chancel as well as building a new Memorial Garden.  This project necessitated fine carpentry skills to repair & install new custom millwork including wainscoting & trim, new custom wood doors & windows & five new 9’ high custom art glass window sashes. The new enclosed Memorial Garden included 25’ of radius wall which had to be built perfectly to accommodate the 300 custom pre-made granite columbaria niches that were a long lead item coming from Minnesota. The garden also included a custom labyrinth, a wood bi-fold drive through gate & man gates, landscaping & hardscape all working around and protecting two heritage oak trees.  Through detailed planning, phasing & construction management, CBI completed the entire project within a tight 24 week schedule working through inclement winter weather.
